Hello all! The sound of crickets was pretty loud around here for the last couple of weeks, was it not? Not to worry, I am back – with a whole world of possibility open to me. Do not be alarmed if you see a new me here, I have truly been given that chance, to really start anew – kind of like a new born – a nothing; empty and meaningless. Yes, I do realise this is a travel and (sometimes) food & art blog but just this once, I’m going let you have a small peek into my personal life.
This last 19th, 20th, 21st and 23rd I was in Bangalore attending a program called the Landmark Forum. I was introduced to it by a friend. Now, before you click away from here thinking this is a promotional gimmick, keep an open mind. And no, it isn’t marketing or promotion. The first three days of the Landmark Forum transformed my life. Would you like that for yourself? Would you like to see endless possibilities and know how to act upon them? Would you like to be alive, really ALIVE every moment that you’re blessed to be on this wonderful planet we call home? If you answered ‘yes’ to any of those, then I suggest you take a look at Landmark’s site.
What did it do for me you ask? It made me realise that the stories I had weaved like a comforting cocoon around myself were just that – stories. And once those fell apart, what I was left with was a very raw person. A person who could no longer hide behind her words and her prejudices. It lead to me connecting with my father, establishing a father-daughter relationship we never had before. It took a lot of courage for me to make the call, because in 28 years (my whole life) I hadn’t done it. At first I stumbled, but then I tried again. That second phone call set the ball rolling, I knew I could achieve anything, anything, I set my mind to. There were many more amazing things that happened, but I choose not to share them here, because as you know this isn’t a personal blog. I would love for you all to have this chance as well – to become nothing (an inside Landmark joke) – which is why I shared a bit of my experience with you.
In my next post I’ll tell you what else I was up to during my one week there. I don’t think talking about food after my revelation is going to do either of those things the justice they deserve. I found a couple of great restaurants, got to gift two sets of couples wedding gifts that I had personalised for them and……..I got myself two more tattoos, so now I have three in all, ….. and counting! 🙂
Until next time, Happy and Safe travels you lot!!
